Welcome to the Stx1300a Page

Here you will find information on Netman's Pan European

WARNING!!!

Each vehicle sold in the UK has what is known as a VIN number (Vehicle Identification Number). This number is unique to the specific type of vehicle and is 17 digits long.

Why is Netman telling you this? >>>>>>>>>

Check your VIN number matches against the log book. Sometimes it is difficult to see the VIN number on a bike as it's stamped on the steering column. What happened in Netman's case is that the VIN number that was sent to VOSA was given by the guys who sold Netman the bike from new. A log book was duly issued and sent to Netman.

Netman some 2 1/2 years later checked with Honda Customer Services regarding any possible recalls. Honda said the bike did not exist as a Honda manufactured bike as they did not recognize the VIN. Netman checked and found that one digit was wrong...

A B C 1 2 3 D E F 4 5 6 G H I 7 8 (Wrong)

A B C 1 2 3 D E F 4 S 6 G H I 7 8 (.Right)

example only

Easy mistake to make and VOSA won't know the difference. You can TAX your vehicle and even attach a private number plate. However, you cannot MOT the vehicle as VOSA computer system wants the number on the steering column. Yes you should check but do we? Netman will now!

Now on to something more pleasant:

Here are some pictures of Netman's Pan European STX1300a. There is no doubt the best bike that Netman has ever owned. The only drawback is the cost of the servicing. But the enjoyment of riding the Pan makes that drift into the distance with a tiny 'Ouch!'. Netman has carried out some minor modifications to the Pan as shown in the pictures below.

The reflectors make the Pan stand out at night

Netman installed the Optimate. Whilst Netman was in Nicaragua and the Pan was not used. The Datatool Alarm system flattened the battery. Not good when you have your kit on and ready to ride. You press the button and ...... Silence with a minor click. The Optimate is a fantastic invention and every biker should own one.

Netman had the Digi Indicator fitted when the bike was purchased. It's good in the fact that the pan is quiet in 4th when you think is there just one more gear to go?

The tank cover from Baglux fits the pan perfectly. Netman uses a map pack with connects to the tank cover.

When you look at the Pan's head light you see a lot of ££££££ So it makes sense to get a Head light protector.

Netman has also fitted Heated Grips, keeping those fingers nice and warm in the cool weather. Also 15mm handle bar raisers were fitted giving much improved visability with the rear view mirrors.

The latest addition to the Pan is the cruise control. It's a real knock out and keeps a rock solid speed. Nice and easy to fit. Blends in well with the Pan's switch gear.

Netman throughly recommends Bike Quip for Pan European accessories
