1 - Tips on settings up the Acer Aspire One

 


To open the Terminal Window head to Files and My Documents. Click File and then select Terminal.

Right-Click the desktop for the Menu list.

Installing Skype on the Acer One.
Open the My Files under Files (Green segment) Now in the top where it says 'My Disk:///' type the following: /home/user/.config/xfce4/desktop/group-app.xml
You will find a XML coded page loads up.
At this point be careful what you type.
Look for the ID 5
Then under that heading find:
/usr/share/applications/skype.desktop
Note that the sequence="2" number may be different.
You also need to un-hide the line by removing the !-- from the front of the line and the -- from the end of the line.

Change the sequence number so that it is different from the rest in the group
DO NOT USE THE NUMBER 7
Reboot your Acer Aspire and then go to your Connect folder on the desktop.
You can move the icons around and if you place Skype on the dark blue area then it will appear when the machine boots up.
